Congrats on taking the first step towards becoming a growth marketer.
If you are reading this guide, you must be thinking where do I start? How do I start? What do I start with?
Unlike Dev, no company invests in Marketing stacks, which is one of the reasons they fail.
Everyone thinks Marketing is sales, which isn鈥檛 true. You need these tools to analyse data, infer from it and grow fast.
As a Growth Marketer, your focus would largely be on these three things:
- Acquisition
- CRO & Engagement
- Data Analytics
In this blog, we鈥檒l see all the tools I use under these categories, and in the next blog, I鈥檒l tell you how to use all of them together and automate your work.
Acquisition
WordPress
Nothing better than WordPress to create a website and landing page. I use WordPress as my primary lead generation and acquisition machine.
You can use Webflow as well. But that鈥檚 more complicated and might not be useful as a marketer.
Semrush
Semrush is insanely powerful if you know how to read it. Some people swear by Ahref. I prefer Semrush cause I feel it has the most accurate database out there.
Drift
Drift is a live chat with a chatbot that helps you capture leads. Best for sales-heavy organizations
CRO & Engagement
Google Optimize
It would be criminal to start this section without mentioning Google Optimize. It鈥檚 a free tool that integrates easily with Google Analytics and Google Ads
Hotjar
In my honest opinion, the best heatmap and user behavior tool out there.
Buffer
Buffer helps you publish content across social media platforms鈥擣acebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter.
Buffer has really powerful analytics that lets you improve your social media game.
Analytics
Mixpanel
Mixpanel should be your source of truth in terms of Analytics. It lets you do multiple things like understanding how users use your product & understand the issues. It lets you identify users and see what they do on your website at a granular level.
Crazy Egg
Wanna know how did users behave on your website? Where they clicked? How did they make a payment?
Crazy Egg lets you see heatmaps, recordings, and snapshots of your website and also captures errors your users face so that you can fix them.
An absolute must for CRO.
Google Search Console & Google Analytics
A must-have for anyone starting out as a Marketer. These are free tools and should be used to give you an understanding of your user and how they reach your website.
Google Analytics is really good out of the box, but those who master it know the true power it possesses.
There is no hard and fast rule that you have to use only these tools. There are many other tools in the market, but I find these easy to use and have a very thriving community.
What tools do you use? What are someone of the workflows that you have built using these tools? Comment below 馃憞馃徏 and let鈥檚 discuss!
